If you want to visit Delhi during the Commonwealth Games happenings, then the problem of accommodation should not bother you. The Organizing Committee of the Commonwealth Games, 2010, Delhi and the Accommodation Functional Area (FA), in association with the Games Travel Office (GTO) has made all the necessary arrangements for hotel accommodation in Delhi and the nearby places, specially for the visitors of the Games
You can have a look at some of the hotels that will solely be used for the accommodation purposes at the Commonwealth Games. The various accommodation options are as follows:
- "The Ashok" hotel at Delhi has been selected as the "Flagship Hotel" for the 2010, Commonwealth Games. This five star hotel will provide various club or executive rooms, executive suite and luxury suite.
- Right beside The Ashok, is the "Samrat Hotel" which will provide 4 star accommodations with room categories like standard and suite.
- ITC Maurya, which is twenty five minutes from Delhi Airport. It has more than 400 rooms which also include 29 suites.
- The Taj Palace which is situated at Sardar Patel Marg. It has 40 suites and 404 rooms
- The Oberoi which takes only 30 minutes to reach from the Delhi Airport. It has deluxe as well as luxury rooms.
- Radisson which is one of Delhi's 5 star hotels. It is only 5 kilometers from Delhi Airport.
- Le Meridien hotel which is located at the heart of Delhi and is very close to the Rashtrapati Bhawan. It has some finest suites and guest rooms.
- Hyatt Regency which is only 25 minutes from Delhi Airport. This seven storey hotel has 520 rooms.
Some Important Information
- The rates of the hotel rooms will be in Indian currency i.e. "Rupees".
- The government has waived off the luxury taxes on rooms that will be booked through "OC CWG Delhi 2010" from 16th September, 2010 till 16th October 2010.
- The "Booking request forms" can be procured from the Offical site of Commonwealth Games
- All the accommodation that will be made during the Games will be considered for a period of at least 4 night stay.
