
Where is Mizoram?
Mizoram lies in the northeastern part of India. The state shares its border with three out of seven sister states, namely – Tripura to the northwest, Assam to the north, and Manipur to the northeast. Mizoram shares its boundaries with two neighbouring countries – Myanmar to the east and south, and Bangladesh to the west. The formation of Mizoram as a state took place on February 20, 1987. The summer season in Mizoram falls from the end of March to June, while temperature during this period in the state remains in the range of 20°C (68°F) to 30°C (86°F). The winter season in the state falls from mid of November to February. The winter temperature in the state remains between 7°C (45°F) to 22°C (72°F).
The state receives an average annual rainfall of around 2564 mm. January and August are the coldest and hottest months, respectively, in the state.

Prominent national highways that pass through the state are NH-306, NH-502, NH-2, and many more. The state has a well-developed state highways network such as- Champhai-North Vanlaiphai Road, Lunglei-Thenzawl road, and Tlabung-Borapansury Road.
Train services have been developing in the state. The passenger train has been underway since 2016 from Katakhal (Assam) to Bairabi (2 km inside Mizoram). Works on several railways projects are in progress in the state.
The state is connected by the airline network as well. The Aizawl airport, known as Lengpui airport, is a domestic airport situated 32 km away from Aizawl. The state government built it.
