Ansupa

Ansupa lake is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Cuttack. It is one of the well known lakes that are located in the state of Orissa. The tourists who come to visit the city of Cuttack on a vacation generally visit Ansupa Lake.

The Ansupa Lake is a small water body, which has a horse-shoe shape. The main attraction of this lake is its natural beauty. Another reason for the popularity of the Ansupa Lake is its proximity to the city of Cuttack. Till very recently, many different kinds of birds used to migrate from different places to the Ansupa Lake near Cuttack during the winter months. The tourists can also opt for boating and fishing in this lake.

At present, the total length of the lake is around 5 km and width is about 1.6 km. The lake is located at the foot region of the Saranda hills. The distance between Ansupa and Bhubaneshwar, which is the capital city of the state of Orissa, is about 35 km.

The Saranda Mountain is located towards the west of the Ansupa Lake while, River Mahanadi is situated towards the south. The distance between Ansupa Lake and Cuttack is about 70 km.
