Getting around Diu Island is hassle free. There are a lot of local modes of conveyance, which provide efficient transportation at an affordable rate. There are a number of options from which one can choose from like auto rickshaw, cycles, bikes, mopeds and the local bus service. Some of the local transports like the motorcycle carts are a quaint charm of this place.
Popular Modes of Transport
Traveling within Diu is much cheaper as the fares are bargainable. Auto-rickshaws provide rides to Sunset Point, Nagoa Beach, Ghogla, and Una. A good thing would be to hire a cycle for traveling around. Bicycles can be rented from the Jampa Gate or from the Main Square. However, cycle rides can prove to be exhausting, especially to far-flung places.
One can also try out the local buses. These buses usually leave from the Jethibai Bus Stand, opposite to the petrol pump located in Bunder Road. Bus services are available in the morning, afternoon and evening. Buses travel to and from Nagoa Beach, Vanakbara and Delwada.
Tourists can avail of these local means of transport while undertaking a tour of Diu Island.
