M 5.8 Earthquake Strikes Uttarakhand

An earthquake of 5.8 magnitude hit Uttarakhand on Monday at 10.33 pm. Tremors of the quake were felt in parts of north India, including Delhi, Gurgaon and Punjab. Reports say that slight tremors were felt in Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh as well. However, there is no report of any damage yet.

The epicentre of the earthquake was near Ukimath in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand with a depth of seven kilometres.
