Vincy Sony Aloshious is an Indian actress who mainly appears in Malayalam movies. Recently for her portrayal of Rekha in the 2023 Malayalam film Rekha, she was given the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress at the 53rd Kerala State Film Awards.
Early life
She was born on December 12, 1995 in Ponnani, Malappuram, Kerala and studied in Bangalore and attended the Bishop Cotton Girls High School. The Asian School of Architecture and Design Innovation in Kochi, Kerala, where she later received her degree. She is an architect with a bachelor’s degree. She began at an early age to model at the time of being a college student. Additionally, she started holding auditions for both movies and short films also.
Career
Aloshious finished second in the talent competition Nayika Nayakan, broadcast on the Mazhavil Manorama channel in 2018. In 2019, she hosted the dance reality series D5 Junior on the same channel, Mazhavil Manorama. She debuted in a feature film, leading in Vikruthi alongside Suraj Venjaramood and Soubin Shahir, both popular malayalam actors. In director Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval’s satirical movie Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham from 2021, she portrayed Shalini, a receptionist. In the same year, she appeared in the Youtube Karikku miniseries Kalakka Chi. Additionally, she portrayed Emily in the 2022 web series. The New Indian Express and The Times of India both praised Vincy’s performance, with The New Indian Express stating that “Vincy’s transformation from a frightened woman who faces her killer to a psychopath who kills her brother is a testimony to her versatility.”
Her 2022 filmography includes Saudi Vellakka, Jana Gana Mana, Solamante Theneechakal, and 1744 White Alto. Her supporting performance as Gouri Lakshmi in the political thriller Jana Gana Mana had a significant impact. She played the wife of a police officer in Senna Hegde’s 1744 White Alto, who is frequently at odds with her mother-in-law. Her role was rather minor, but it contained enough for her to show off her acting skills.
On programs like Thakarppan Comedy (2018), she made guest appearances. She appeared as a guest on I Personally (2019) and Onaruchimelam (2021). In 2022, Vincy guested on reality TV programs like Comedy Stars and Solamante Nayika Nayakanmar.
