Released at the beginning of the year, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga has managed to create a stir because of its subject; same-sex love. What has made it more special is its casting a conventionally successful actor like Sonam Kapoor to play the lead in the film. Though the film has received criticism on its schematic portrayal of gay love, it gave it a burl on talking about same-sex relationships without reducing it to sheer humour like many other Hindi films in the past.
