Career Beginnings: The Entrepreneurial Spark
After graduating from IIM Calcutta in 2011, Majety worked at Nomura International as an associate in the rates trading desk at their offices in India and London. He was doing great in the pressure cooker of investment banking but felt something was lacking in creativity and purpose. Coming from a family of entrepreneurs and a yearning to create, he left a good job to live a business life. This prompted him to come back to India and co-found Bundl in 2013. According to his profile, Majety was an adventurous guy who tried his hand at a few things before setting out on his Swiggy journey. He started consulting in the corporate world and learned about solving problems at scale for businesses. But corporate life couldn’t suppress him. But it was in 2011, during extensive travel, that Majety began taking an interest in the startup ecosystem and seeing how technology could help solve problems in everyday life. Their discussions, along with his curiosity, became the breeding ground for his entrepreneurial dream.Founding Swiggy: A Game-Changing Venture
Sriharsha Majety and co-founders Nandan Reddy and Rahul Jaimini started Swiggy in 2014 in Bengaluru, India. Their idea came from a desire to address the inefficiencies of the food delivery ecosystem. Food delivery services in India were fragmented, unreliable, and not built on technology. Swiggy’s vision was simple yet revolutionary: to create a seamless platform connecting customers, restaurants, and delivery partners. Under Majety’s leadership, the team focused on building a robust logistics network powered by cutting-edge technology. The emphasis was on providing a superior customer experience, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining a vast selection of restaurants on the platform.Key Milestones and Achievements
