The countdown to the big election results has started. It was a long election, lasting 44 days, with voting taking place in seven phases all across India.
India achieved a remarkable feat in this year’s Lok Sabha elections, with Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announcing a world record of 64.2 crore voters, including 31.2 crore women, participating. Speaking at a press briefing, he highlighted the massive scale of the electoral process, involving over 68,000 monitoring teams and 1.5 crore polling and security personnel, making it the largest electoral exercise in the world.
The BJP, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is hoping for a third term in power and feels pretty sure they’ll do well, especially in areas where they usually do well.
