Follow These Steps To Make Bajra Khichdi
- In a pressure cooker, combine the Bajra, moong dal, salt, and water. Mix well and cook for 4 whistles or until the bajra and dal are soft and mushy.
- In a small pan, heat the ghee or oil over medium-high heat. Add the cumin seeds and asafoetida and fry until the seeds crackle.
- Add the turmeric powder and any other spices or vegetables that you are using. Cook the vegetables by sautéing for a few minutes.
- Add the cooked Bajra-dal mixture and mix well. Taste and adjust salt and water as desired. Let it simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, giving it a stir now and then for extra goodness.
- Garnish with coriander leaves if desired and serve hot with curd, raita, pickle, or papad.
