
While doing my groceries today, I just could not resist a nice looking seer fish, so I decided to get a few pieces cleaned and packed for dinner. I used this seer fish to make Masala Fish Curry, which came out really nice and we enjoyed it with boiled white basmati rice. Ingredients needed for Masala Fish Curry
(serves 2)
Fish slices – 400 gms
Oil – 2 tbsp
Onion – 1 cup (chopped)
Tomato puree – 2 tbsp
Ginger paste – 1 tsp
Garlic paste – 1 tsp
Dahi – 2 tbsp
Coriander powder – 2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Lemon juice – 1 tsp
Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
How to make Masala Fish Curry
Heat oil in a kadhai and fry onions in it till light golden brown.
Add ginger paste and garlic paste and fry till golden brown.
Add tomato puree with dahi and cook for couple of min.
Add all dry masala with 1/2 cup water and fry till the oil starts to come out.
Add the fish pieces with 2 cups of water and cook for about 5 min.
Add lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves.
Serve hot with rice or any Indian bread.
