
The weeks after the festival season are also the season for weddings and celebrations. All this calls for special foods, made at home or bought from the market. One such delicacy is kachori. These are made with many different ingredients and today I made these with moong dal, called Moong Dal Ki Kachori. These kachoris are made with maida mixed with boiled moong dal. It may sound difficult; however it is fairly straightforward once you have the right recipe on your hands. I share with you today Moong Dal Ki Kachori Recipe, which you can use yourself to make some things for your celebrations.
Ingredients needed for Moong Dal Ki Kachori
(serves 6)
For dough:
- Maida – 1 cup
- Oil – 3 tsp
- Salt to taste
For filling:
- Moong dal – 1/2 cup
- Heeng -1 pinch
- Zeera – 1/4 tsp
- Saunf – 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala – 1/4 tsp
- Amchoor powder – 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 1 tbsp
- Oil for frying
How to make Moong Dal Ki Kachori
- Make a soft dough by mixing maida, oil and salt. Keep aside.
- In 1-tbsp oil add heeng, zeera and dry boiled dal. Mix well.
- Add salt, turmeric, garam masala, amchoor powder and mix well.
- Roll the dough into a small circle and keep 1 tsp of filling in the center and bring the edges together to make a ball.
- Dust and roll into a circle (about 4 inches).
- Heat the oil in a pan and fry the rolled kachoris until golden brown from both sides.
- Serve hot with potato curry.
