
I’m back with another very common preparation of what I call very versatile product Paneer (cottage cheese), I’m fairly sure if you love Indian curries, you would definitely would have had Shahi Paneer. It is served pretty much everywhere from restaurants to weddings and parties and even made in numerous Indian homes. Kids love this dish and adults just adore it, it goes well with most Indian breads and specially with a naan or tandoori roti. Ingredients needed for Shahi Paneer
(serves 4)
Paneer – 400 gms (cut in large square pieces)
Onion – 2 cup (cut in small pieces)
Tomato – 1 cup (cut in small pieces)
Ginger garlic paste – 1 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Dhania powder – 1 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Kaju tukra – 1/2 cup
Green chili – 2 to 3 (cut in small pieces)
Fresh cream – 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Butter – 1 tbsp
Oil – 3 tbsp
Fresh Dhania leaves for garnishing
How to make Shahi Paneer
Preparation time: 10 min.
Cooking time: 25 min.
Heat butter in a pan and fry paneer till light brown on all sides. Keep aside.
Blend the kaju tukra and green chili with little water to make a paste. Keep aside
Heat the oil in a pan and add mustard seeds to it, once it starts to crackle add onions and fry till light golden brown.
Add ginger garlic paste and fry for 1-2 min.
Add all dry masala and fry for 3-4 min.
Add tomatoes and cook for 3-4 min. (Add water as needed)
Mix with kaju paste and blend again to smooth paste.
Heat the paste and add cream and mix well.
Add paneer pieces and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Serve hot.
