10 Indian Television Comedians who give us a good laugh

Everyone loves a burst of good laughter. Whether a young kid, an adult, or an old individual, laughter is the best medicine for everyone. All thanks to television shows like the Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Comedy Circus, and The Kapil Sharma Show, who continued to give people their dose of this medicine. 

Making someone laugh is an art, and those who successfully do it are the true artists. In India, quite a few famous stand-up comedians have been in the business for a long time.

1. Kapil Sharma

The man who has been ruling the Indian television comedy segment is none other than Kapil Sharma. He consecutively emerged as the winner of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge In 2007 and Comedy Circus for six seasons. He started his show ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ in 2013 and ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ in 2016. Both of them were popular and made Kapil a household name. 

2. Bharti Singh

The girl who doesn’t shy away from laughing at herself is Barti Singh. A national-level shooter, Bharti emerged as the second runner-up of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge in 2008. She was also a part of several other comedy shows. She plays various characters in The Kapil Sharma Show and has started her performance along with her husband Harsh Limbachiyaa called ‘The Khatra Khatra Khatra Show’. 

3. Krushna Abhishek

Abhishek Sharma, aka Krushna Abhishek, is a popular Indian stand-up comedian who rose to fame after participating in several seasons of Comedy Circus. He is a part of The Kapil Sharma Show, in which he plays the character of Sapna, the owner of Sapna Beauty Parlour. His antics make everyone laugh, and the audience loves his personality.

4. Sunil Grover

A post-graduate in Theatre, Sunil Grover is an Indian stand-up comedian who has been part of popular Indian television comedy shows. His characters Gutthi in Comedy Nights with Kapil, Dr Mashoor Gulati, and Rinku Devi in The Kapil Sharma Show are widely loved. 

5. Raju Srivastav

A veteran Indian stand up Comedian, Satya Prakash Srivastava aka Raju Srivastav aka Gajodhar. He participated in shows like ‘Tea Time Manoranjan’, ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, ‘Raju Hazir Ho’, ‘Comedy ka Maha Muqabla’, ‘Comedy Circus’ and others. He was last seen in The Kapil Sharma Show. After emerging as the second runner-up in The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, he participated in its spin-off, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge- Champions, where he became ‘The King of Comedy.

6. Kiku Sharda

Famous for his characters of Santosh, Bumper and Baccha Yadav in the Kapil Sharma Show, Kiku Sharda is a popular Indian stand-up comedian. He has been part of various comedy shows like ‘F.I.R’, ‘Akbar Birbal’, ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’, etc.

7. Sanket Bhonsle

Sanket Bhosle, or Dr Sanket Bhonsle, is a famous Indian comedian who mimics Bollywood and Hollywood celebrities. The most convincing of them was the mimicry of Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt. He has been part of shows like ‘Laugh India Laugh’, ‘Baba ki Chowki’, ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, and others.

8. Sugandha Misra

Sugandha Mishra is a well-known face among the comedians of the Indian television industry. She is known for being a part of ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ and ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. Besides that, she did several other comedy shows, including ‘Comedy Circus’ and ‘Comedy flights with Kapil’.

Sudesh Lehri is another veteran Indian stand-up Comedian. He participated in ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ in 2007, where he came third. 10. Ali Asgar

Ali Asgar is a famous Indian stand-up comedian known for his Dadi character in Comedy Nights with Kapil. He has also been a part of other comedy shows like ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’, ‘The Drama Company’, ‘Kanpur Wale Khuranas’ and others.
