Copper is a non-ferrous mineral which possesses high corrosion resistance. India has large copper ore deposits in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. 4. Diamond
Diamond deposits in India occur in three types of geological settings. They are – Alluvial gravels, conglomerate beds and kimberlite pipes. Diamonds can be procured in Panna belt in Maharashtra, Wajrakarur kimberlite pipe in Anantapur district, Munimadugu- Banganapalie conglomerate in Kurnool district and gravels of Krishna river basin in Andhra Pradesh. As per UNFC, diamonds are placed at nearly 4582 thousand carats.
