A lot of people like you have been waiting with great anticipation and bated breath for Reliance to launch its smartphone named JioPhone. Well, here is the good news for you – you can start pre-booking the phone from today (August 24, 2017) itself starting at 5:30 pm. You can pre-book the 4G feature phone at the retail stores of Reliance Jio, Reliance Digital and Reliance Digital Xpress Mini, the official website of Reliance, and on the MyJio app. You would need to pay an initial amount of INR 500. The phone is expected to be delivered by the first week of September 2017 and it is then that the remaining amount of INR 1000 would have to be paid.

You need to know that the phone will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Users can use the phone for 36 months and upon returning it will get back the security deposit of Rs 1500. The phone itself was launched at the 40th annual general meeting of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) held in July 2017. The phone was effectively launched by its Chairman Mukesh Ambani for zero cost with a refundable security deposit. In spite of being a feature phone, this device offers all the functionalities found in a smartphone. It has effectively started a new product – 4G feature phones.
Breaking the digital barrier
With this particular product Reliance Jio is making a brave attempt of breaking the digital barrier in India. The phone offers a number of features such as the following:
