Rohini Vidhan Sabha constituency is a completely urbanized constituency, where 70% of the voters live in DDA flats, planned colonies, and group housing societies. Almost the entire population of the Rohini assembly constituency belongs to the middle-class and upper-middle-class section. These voter-sections are the strong vote-banks of BJP, which the saffron party wants to in this election too.

One of the greatest aspects of this election is that all three major political parties (BJP, AAP, and INC) are contesting on the issue of “development”.

BJP is contesting on the issue of their plan of giving ownership rights to residents in the unauthorized colonies. This is going to be a major draw for the residents of the two unauthorized colonies – Suraj Park and Raja Vihar. In 2013, AAP snatched Rohini assembly constituency from BJP by a slender margin of just 1,872 votes by mainly capitulating on the votes from these unauthorized colonies. By vowing to provide ownership rights to the residents of these unauthorized colonies, BJP is trying to increase its margin of victory (which was 5,367 votes during the 2015 assembly election).
