Kalimpong is a hill station located in the Mahabharata Range (lesser Himalayas) in West Bengal. Situated at a height of 1250 meters, this little town is the headquarters of the Kalimpong subdivision- a part of the district of Darjeeling. Kalimpong is known thought the country for its educational institutes, many of which were established by the British. Overlooking the Teesta River, Kalimpong is also a popular tourist destination thanks to its pleasant climate and closeness to many tourist destinations in the region.
