History:

The history of Ecuador spans 8,000 years. What is now the Republic of Ecuador was influenced by a variety of cultures and regions during this time. Pre-Columbian, the Conquest, Colonial Period, War of Independence, Gran Colombia under Simón Bolvar, and the final division of his vision into the Republic of Ecuador are the six periods that make up the history. It was subjugated by the Spanish in 1532 and subsequently freed from their colonial rule by Simon Bolivar in 1822. In a letter to Ecuadorian President Juan José Flores from Secretary of State Edward Livingston dated June 4, 1832, the United States effectively recognized Ecuador.

Culture:

The vibrant and stunning tapestries made by Ecuador's native artisans are a part of the country's distinctive culture. Ecuadorian culture is a mix of indigenous customs and European colonial influence. Famous artists like Oswaldo Guayasamin, Camilo Egas, and Manuel Rendon, and authors like Juan Montalvo, Juan Leon Mera, and Juan Benigno Vela, were all born in Ecuador.

The two varieties with the greatest usage are Equatorial Coastal Spanish, which is spoken from the Colombian border in the north to the Peruvian border in the south, and Andean Spanish, which is spoken in the highlands. In the whole country, these areas have the highest densities of people. In 2010, Ecuador's literacy rate was 92%.

Geography:

In addition to the Galápagos Islands, Ecuador is divided into three continental regions called the Costa, Sierra, and Oriente. The Andes Mountains serve as a barrier separating the continental regions, which run the length of the nation from north to south. The southern coast of Ecuador resembles a desert, while the Andes mountain range's snow-capped peaks and Amazon Basin plains both have various natural formations and climates. One of the highest active volcanoes in the world is in Ecuador; its name is Cotopaxi. Along with that, it has a sizable network of rivers that flow into Peru's northwest from its southern border.
