Goa Department of Tourism



Goa Department of Tourism, an integral part of the Goa government, provides the overall tourist infrastructure and various other tourist facilities. They play a major role in promoting the economic growth of Goa.

The department of Goa tourism encourages tourists to come and visit this enchanting land.

They try to promote Goa Tourism by participating in many tour based events that occur all round the year within the country as well as overseas. It controls the entire chain of government owned hotels and all the respective trading activities that is carried out in this state.

There are some norms and rules that the indigenous tradesmen have to abide by in order to carry out inter-state trade and commerce. These regulatory measures are all documented under the Goa Registration of Tourist Trade Act, which was established in the year 1982.

The Goa tourism department was founded in the year 1982 . It was established in order to actively execute certain commercial activities.

These activities include water cruises, touring places of tourist attraction, much for the benefit of the tourists. They mainly cater to the needs of the economic tourists who make up the maximum portion of the tourist crowd.

The GTDC controls 1 launch called Santa Monica, 17 luxury and Deluxe AC buses, which offers the tourists a convenient ride.

Due to the great endeavors of the Travel and Tourism department of Goa more and more tourists specially foreign travelers are sojourning to this exotic state. Almost 1.2 million tourists flock to Goa every year.
